Changes of Working Holiday Visa

Legislative Instrument – F2018L01507 – LIN 18/173: Arrangements for Working Holiday Visa Applications Instrument 2018, increases the upper age limit for WHV applicants from Canada and the Republic of Ireland, and the place and manner of making an application for a WHV.

This Instrument gives effect to changes in the Schedule 2 Regulations for Subclass 417 WHV made on 1 July 2017, that made provision for age increases to 35 years old.

Place and manner of applying – Schedule 1

All Working Holiday Visa 417 applications must be made by using Internet Form 1150 or by requesting authorisation from a Departmental officer to lodge a paper Form 1105, in the following manner:

(i)   by attaching a copy of the authorising email to a paper Form 1150, and

(ii)  by the end of the next day after which the authorising email was sent (AEST or AEDST as applicable to the date on which the authorising email was sent)—submitting the application in accordance with the directions in the authorising email.

Countries, conditions and age requirements – Schedule 2

For Canada and the Republic of Ireland, Items 2 and 10, of this schedule now indicate that there is no maximum age specified for applicants holding these passports.  However, it is noted in this schedule that for Schedule 2, Reg 417.211(2)(b) that the maximum age must be no more than 35 years old.
