Extending Student Visa

First of all, there is no such thing as extending student visa. If you want to extend your stay because your current visa will expire before you can complete your course or research candidature has been extended, you need to apply a new student visa. Here are some key document to prepare: Identity document Current Visa infomation Evidence of intended study, for example COE Welfare arrangements for under 18 year old student Genuine Temporary Entrant requirement Migration Agent – Form 956 Advice by a migration agent/exempt person If your are a Research Student, attach a copy of your research (thesis/project) topic and your curriculum vitae or résumé. Temporary Graduate visa (subclass 485)

This visa is for international students who have recently graduated from an Australian educational institution. It lets you live, study and work in Australia temporarily after you have finished your studies. Students are only able to access the Temporary Graduate visa (subclass 485) once as a primary applicant. The visa has two streams: Graduate Work stream Post-Study Work stream You must: be under 50 years of age hold an eligible visa have a recent qualification in a CRICOS-registered course meet additional requirements of the relevant stream met the English language requirement The qualification must either: relate to an occupation on the skilled occupation list (Graduate Work stream) you nominate an occupation on the Medium and Long-term Strategic Skills List (MLTSSL). your visa application included evidence that you had applied for a skills assessment for your nominated skilled occupation by a relevant assessing authority your skills have been assessed by a relevant assessing authority as suitable for your nominated skilled occupation (‘suitable skills assessment’) you have met the Australian study requirement in the past six months each degree, diploma or trade qualification used to meet the Australian study requirement is closely related to your nominated skilled occupation. be a higher education degree (Post-Study Work stream) you applied for, and were granted, your first student visa to Australia on or after 5 November 2011 you hold an eligible qualification your qualification was conferred or awarded by an Australian university or non-university education provider that is registered on the Commonwealth Register of Courses and Institutions for Overseas Students (CRICOS)and that provider offers courses at degree level and above your study for the qualification(s) satisfied the Australian study requirement in the past six months.
